Men's Patterns for Crocheting

Hi to you all,

Have you ever noticed that there are not too many patterns to crochet for men? I had found a few sweaters, hats and scarves galore but not quite what I was looking for. One year I had gotten it into my head to make my boys sweaters for Christmas gifts. Okay, they are actually men now but they will always be my boys! :) They liked hoodies and I was in search of a pattern like the image of one that I had in my mind. There was not a pattern to be found that looked like a hoodie at that point and time. I then came up with the idea to make up one of my own. How hard could it be right!! I have been crocheting since I was 11 yrs old so I figured I would be able to tackle such a job. Well, let me tell you that there was a lot of trial and error in the making of those sweaters. Blood sweat and tears as they say. :) I was able to come up with 3 different patterns and in different sizes. Here is what I had come up with.

     

After I had finished the sweaters and gave them to the boys I started to think what about selling the sweaters and have them be custom orders. I had already done some research by trying to find patterns and had come up empty on that front. It had also crossed my mind to write out a pattern for a sweater. I then thought I am going to have to write this out so people could understand it and not just in my chicken scratch! (which is my version of crochet shorthand) I would also have to figure out several different sizes. It has taken me a few years to accomplish this feat but one is now available to purchase here. 

I am now in the process of writing out more patterns that will hopefully be available soon!
